Brian Jones
Booking Agent, The Bobby Roberts Company
Panelist - The Road
A 1994 Graduate of Belmont University's Music Business Program
began his career in the Music Industry as an intern at Performance
Magazine. With a little luck by being in the right place
at the right time, the location of the office for this concert
industry trade magazine was located in the same building as one
of Nashville's major Booking Agencies, Buddy Lee Attractions.
Along with jobs at Radio Shack, selling copy machines, delivering
take out food, phone books, and selling Time shares, Jones eventually got
a job as a junior agent working at the agency part time
while still in college which later led to a full time job. The
time spent at BLA was time to learn the concert touring business
by working with agents with years of experience, as tours and
careers developed for artists of the time such as Trisha Yearwood,
Tracy Lawrence, The Dixie Chicks, Sammy Kershaw, etc.
With time and networking Jones met Bobby Roberts who had just
a few years earlier started one of Nashville's newest agencies,
and had seen major success with John Anderson. Jones accepted
a position at The Bobby Roberts Company in late 1995 and has
been there ever since.
In the last 10 years Jones has been a part of major expansion
of the roster, currently working with artists such as Sammy Kershaw,
Confederate Railroad, Amanda Wilkinson, Pam Tillis, and Merle
Haggard. A recent promotion to Executive Vice President
bestows the responsibity of overseeing company operations along
with the CEO Bobby Roberts. Jones lives
in Nashville with his wife of 10 years Kelly, and new baby boy
Tucker.
