Song School - Friday
A native Nashvillian, House grew up with country music. Her father Gerry House, is a popular Nashville radio personality and a successful country songwriter. After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in Communications/Broadcasting, House returned to Nashville to intern at the management firm, Moress, Nanas Entertainment. In 1995 she joined Starstruck Entertainment as an administrative assistant and was soon promoted to Professional Manager. In 1998 she took a position as Professional Manager at Maverick Music and later Barbara Orbison Music where she helped to bring Cyndi Thomson to the attention of VP of A&R, Larry Willoughby.
Over the course of her career she secured cuts for such artists as Reba McEntire, Lee Ann Womack, Mark Wills, and Deana Carter.
House joined the Capitol Nashville team in 1999 as Director of A&R. As well as working with existing artists on the label (Trace Adkins, Chris Cagle, Keith Urban), House signed Dierks Bentley.
“Autumn is fearless about breaking the rules and ignoring the conventional wisdom when it comes to music, and that’s the only way you discover brilliance,” says Larry Willoughby. “She definitely has her finger on the pulse of what’s happening in music today, but she also has a strong grounding in the history and traditions of country music. That combination of adventurous spirit and practical knowledge will make her a valuable addition to our department.”
