Billy Decker
Engineer
Production
Billy Decker is one of Nashville’s most in-demand recording and mixing engineers. His discography includes work on projects by Nashville’s hottest acts including Trace Adkins, Leann Rimes, John Michael Montgomery, Billy Dean, Rodney Atkins, Sherrie Austin, Shelly Fairchild, Davie Lee Murphy, Steve Holy, Amy Dalley, and countless other artists.
Before Decker started working with producers like Paul Worley, Scott Hendricks, and Tony Brown, he worked long hours and many years to develop his skills and build his reputation as on of the finest engineers in Music City. A graduate of Full Sail Recording Academy and the University of Nebraska, Decker’s extensive education didn’t excuse him from having to work his way up from the bottom through the ranks of Nashville’s studio community.
After completing his formal education, Decker worked as an engineer in Virginia Beach before making the trek to Nashville in 1994, where he found work as a demo engineer for many publishing companies and songwriters including extensive work at Famous Music Publishing.
With the introduction of ProTools, Decker honed his skills with the new technology, and today is in demand by many producers for his amazing skills as a mixing engineer, and is one of only 3 engineers who mixes “in the box.”
Decker lives in Nashville with his wife of 13 years and their two sons.
