THE BIOGRAPHY OF JEREMY WITT
Or "How To Succeed In The Music Business Without Really Dying..."

Jeremy Witt was born and raised in the cultural wasteland of Reagan-era suburbia, in a little grey house between a Wendy's and a strip-mall in a small town about fifty feet outside of Chattanooga.

Like a large number of bored teenagers before and since, Jeremy drifted towards music both as expression and escape.  He and some friends formed a band and toured the lucrative Chattanooga junior-high-dance-and-birthday-party circuit for two years before breaking up over the usual musical differences.

Jeremy found himself in Murfreesboro in the prestigious MTSU Recording Industry program, where he occasionally attended classes before his inevitable graduation in 1999.  As part of his curriculum, Jeremy undertook an internship at Atlantic Records in Nashville.  On his first day at Atlantic, Jeremy was introduced to the staff, almost an entire half of which were fired later that same day.  Corporate downsizing had come to Nashville.

Midway through his internship, he was offered a position in the Warner Bros. Records mailroom, which he readily accepted, eager to spend his days moving boxes from one place to the next.  That eager attitude paid off two years and five downsizings later, when he was promoted into a position in the A&R department, originally as an assistant to the department head.

In another year, after two more corporate changes, Jeremy's position was realigned into that of a junior A&R representative, wherein he became responsible for liaising with, and ostensibly providing career direction for, several artists on Warner's Nashville roster, a position that he holds today, unless today is Tuesday.  Currently, Jeremy is responsible for projects by developing artists Lauren Lucas, Alexis, and the coordination of recordings by the Jack Records roster, including the Blue Collar comedians and newcomer Lisa Lampanelli.
