As head of Creative Services, Joanna Carter is responsible for all visual elements of production, including CD packaging, sales displays, mailers, videos and photo shoots. She is art director on all CD packages and printed matter from the label and contributes creative guidance on marketing projects. She also works closely with all Capitol artists, to develop, refine and maintain their public image.
Carter joined Capitol in 1993 as Associate Director of Video Development, eventually working her way up to the position of Director of Video Development. Under her guidance, Capitol has released such breakthrough videos as Trace Adkins’ “Every Light In The House Is On,” Deana Carter’s “Strawberry Wine,” and Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You” and Dierks Bentley's "What Was I Thinkin.'"
Prior to her work at Capitol, Carter worked as Management Associate at William N. Carter Career Management for five years. While there, she was responsible for all aspects of career development for the artists that the company represented, including Rodney Crowell, Shenandoah, and Carlene Carter, acting as liaison between the artist and their record labels, publicists, booking agents and road managers
