Tim Carroll
Downbeat Entertainment
Panelist-Live Performance
For Tim Carroll, creating, developing, and breathing life into innovative and entertaining stage productions isn’t a career choice, it’s a life he was literally born into. With the launch of Downbeat Entertainment, Carroll is synergizing his lifelong experiences as a performer, director, writer, and producer to bring his amazing ideas to audiences worldwide.
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Carroll was surrounded by the performing arts from his earliest childhood memories. The son of one of the most renowned dance teachers in the region who owns and operates the largest studio in the Southeast, Carroll’s ambitions in the entertainment industry are a birthright. After graduating high school, he remained in Tennessee to attend and graduate from Middle Tennessee State University.
After graduation, the bright lights of Broadway called, and Carroll relocated to New York, where he performed alongside many great actors including Richard Chamberlain, Barry Williams, and Charo in productions including Grease, Smoky Joe’s Café, The Sound of Music, and The Civil War. It was there that he honed his skills as an actor, dancer, and singer. His Broadway work was complemented with many other roles in touring productions both in the U.S. and abroad.
The fire burned inside for Carroll, however, to explore his aspirations to write, produce, and direct productions of his own. An opportunity arose for Carroll to develop these skills ironically by relocating back to Nashville, where he found the opportunity to work on productions for ocean cruise lines including Norwegian, Crystal Cruise Lines, Queen Mary II, recording artists including the legendary Dolly Parton, and ultimately some of Las Vegas’ most innovative productions.
Throughout this period, Carroll also served as a consultant for several major record companies, for which he worked to develop the skills of their most promising new talents including Capitol Records newcomers Amber Dotson and The Jenkins. He was also tapped by Mercury Records to coach their hot new artist Billy Currington for his Today Show debut duet with superstar Shania Twain.
Carroll is now embarking on his most ambitious venture to date with the formation of Downbeat Entertainment, a company that is focused on the creation of new productions, talent management, and entertainment development throughout the world. With an unparalleled depth of experience and knowledge of all stages of production from inception to fruition, the only way for Downbeat to go is up, and with Carroll at the helm, the sky is the limit!
